Wait!

Ibrahim head shot

There is a divine will that surpasses our thoughts and ways. If we seek what is beyond God's declared will for our lives we will surely stumble, and stray from the road-map He had made for us. There is nothing more wretched than to walk in a plan other than God's.

Be still before the LORD and
wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one
who prospers in his way,
over the man who
carries out evil devices!*

Let us wait unto the Lord but not in our own power and resources, but let us wait unto Him in His strength and the power of His resurrection. Let us wait unto Him as our eyes keep in His ways. Let us wait as we listen to His still small voice which brings His presence and wise instructions in our lives. Let us wait worshipfully, prayerfully, and with praise. Let us wait as we are immersed and shining with the light and lamp of His word. Let us wait fully knowing and trusting that His wise will awaits us. For He wants to bring us into the measure of faith He has already prepared for us since before the world was made. He wants to commission us and use us for the work He has called us to.

So, let us wait, slow down, not haste, remain awake and alert, and be in harmony with His good will for our lives. Let us not wait for Him according to our will, but according to His will. If we wait for Him according to His will we will become men and women after His heart; we will not grow tired as we wait but it will be a delight. And in His timing, we will receive two great blessings that embody His intent for our lives. Firstly, we will be after His heart, which is a great honor. And secondly, He will bless us over and over. And, oh the good blessings that will follow us here on earth, and there in our eternity with Him. So let our hearts be strong and bold as we wait unto the Lord!
