Leaving the Shepherd's Tent

When Abraham saw the three men standing nearby he sprung out of his tent and pressed them them to come in. He wanted to honor them, serve them and make them comfortable. If you’ve ever visited with an Arab family anywhere you’ll find they’re nothing short of such hospitality. Arab hospitality is famous and requires some adjustments in lingo since “no, thanks, I’m full,” doesn’t seem to cut it. But it reaches beyond that especially when someone is in need, and the Shepherd’s Tent, for some, was a warm home indeed.

The Shepherd’s Tent is what we called an apartment that CHLF rented in Nazareth. It served several purposes such as a meeting place for the team members, a place of rest for those who needed to get away for a few days and a place for CHLF visitors to stay at when visiting and more. Over the period of five years the Shepherd’s Tent was very valuable and enabled us to help out families who had no home until they’ve found one. As we cleared it out we could look in every corner and hear the songs of praise we sang together there, the conversations and the dreams we once had that have become true.

We are ever so thankful for the gifts that were given to sustain and maintain the Shepherd’s Tent that we believe in its simplicity impacted the lives of many. Thank you so much!
